Summertime is still a great time to plant certain seeds! Below we list some great options:

Red carrots for summer sow

June is already upon us and it’s almost summer but there is still plenty of time to sow a variety of vegetable seeds in the garden. Here in the mid-Atlantic region, pumpkins, winter squash, and summer squash can be planted until the 3rd week of the month. Sweet corn, lima beans and cucumbers until the 1st week in July, snap beans and heat tolerant leaf lettuces until August 1st and red beets, carrots & swiss chard until the middle of August.

Now is also the time to plant cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and kale seed for a fall harvest.
